Directions to Osborne-Salata House located at

Take route 128 to Exit 26, and follow Lowell Street, which becomes Main Street, into Peabody Square. Turn right onto Washington Street (there is a traffic light). The Osborne-Salata House is on the right only a few doors down.  There is on street free parking.

Winners of the 2017 International Festival Galleria Art Show [PDF]
September is here and  with it comes new interests and activities to enjoy and get involved in.  Hopefully painting is on your list as we get ready for the start of Peabody Art Association’s,  great workshops.

Beginning in October:  On Saturday, October 7, 2017, Pen and Ink  Sketching and watercolor wash demo/workshop with hands on participation.  Our guest artist is Emily Passman from Lexington.   Also in the works is an interesting demo with detailed instruction on the art of creating Shadow Boxes, using a photograph or art image to create amazing  3D affect.  Glenice Boyd from Peabody Historical Society is our instructor.  Her Shadow boxes are beautiful and very saleable.  Stay tuned.

September is also PAA Annual Membership renewal month.  Annual dues of  $25.00  include monthly workshops Oct – May,  Gallery exhibit space for  members, Members  group shows at various venues.   Funding from the Peabody Cultural council and PAA members annual dues support our nonprofit art group.   We are still one of the most reasonable art groups in the area.

Peabody Art Association  water bottles – Blue with  a great logo are free with each new member application.   They will be also be available for purchase at upcoming workshops

Looking ahead,  fill out and mail back the 2017 membership application,  come and enjoy the first workshop on October 7, 2017 and catch up with fellow artists from PAA.  Just download and print out the application, fill it out and mail it with your check to PAA, c/o Ruth Mowder, 17 Sandra Rd, Peabody, MA 01960.

  • From the NORTH take EXIT 25A - Rt. 114 towards Marblehead & Peabody
  • From the SOUTH take EXIT 25B - Route 114 towards Marblehead & Peabody
  • Stay STRAIGHT you will come to an intersection after a short distance where Rt. 114 goes off to the left - Do NOT follow Rt. 114 at this point
  • TORIGIAN SENIOR CENTER is a short distance on the LEFT Side of the Street - Look for the SIGN
Gallery Space is available for use by PAA Members for solo or 2 artist shows for 2 week to one month periods at Peabody Art Association’s Gallery Located in the Osborne-Salata House at 33 Washington Street, Peabody.
The space works well for a presentation of 20 to 30 paintings. The Gallery is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 9 – 4 PM and on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 12:30 – 3:00. Stop by to view the space.
Call Ruth Mowder at 978 531 2860 to schedule your exhibit and for more information about hanging the show, inviting friends and family to a simple opening day reception.

The Peabody Institute South Branch Library
Contact information: Alysa Hayden, Head Librarian 978 531-3380.  This is a nice opportunity to show and sell art.   Alysa is pleasant to work with.  She is doing a great job promoting each artist’s work on display with media postings, news articles and on face book. The space is large enough to show 8 or 9 paintings.  We hope to fill the space for 2 month periods on a rotation basis.  Call Alysa for more information or visit the library.  Hours are: Mon and Wed. 9 – 6, Tues 9 -9, Thursday 12-9, and Sat, 9-2.
