About Our Workshops
On the second Saturday of most months in the winter Peabody Art Association has an artist workshop from 9:00 - 2:00 pm.  There is a demonstration, followed by a workshop where the demonstrating artist will assist artist members as they paint or draw.  We have well known artists demonstrate in different mediums.  Members may paint or draw in any medium preferred and it does not need to be the same as the demonstration.  Some members come just for the demonstration.
The workshops are at the Torigian Senior Center, 75 R Central Street, Peabody, MA.

Steve is a well know artist to many of us.  His wonderful paintings, his unique process for rendering details, especially the fur and eyes of animals and birds is amazing.
He teaches acrylic painting weekly at various senior centers and is a popular guest artist instructor for Art Groups in our area.  Steve has an easy going manner and enjoys teaching, sharing his talent, knowledge and experience painting with acrylics
Don’t miss it.

Steve will demo a marine or landscape painting followed by group painting.  You can follow along with the artist and or bring a painting you are working  for helpful critique from Steve.  Steve begins his paintings using black and white copy of photo to quickly get the dark and light values in first. This establishes the light and dark patterns of the piece, then adds main color deliberately placed on the layout to keep the eye interested on the important areas of the painting.   A good suggestion for working from a photo.

November Art Project – Creating 3D Shadow Boxes –  A mini workshop with instructor Glenice Boyd.   Google: Glenice Boyd – 3D Shadow Boxes for photos and complete information about this art form.  Glenice has been making this unique type of art for several years.  Several gift shops on the North Shore carry her shadow boxes.   We had two boxes on display at October workshop along with a  sign-up sheet for a mini workshop…Nine members are interested,  We have two dates Glenice is available.
The first one is Tuesday, November 14th, 10:00 AM to finish for a group of ten artists.  Location is at PAA Gallery, 33 Washington Street, Peabody.  The second workshop will be determined by amount of interest.  Another sign-up sheet will be available at the November workshop with Steve Greco. Note: a detailed overview of materials etc. from Glenice will be emailed to those who expressed interest in the first 3D Shadow Box workshop.
